How Our Growth Factor Formulas Enhance Anti-Aging Benefits

For our Season of Growth promotion, we highlight the importance of growth factor products in enhancing anti-aging regimens, boosting hydration, and developing altogether stronger, healthier, smoother, and clearer complexions for our patients. Just as Spring is a season for growth in the natural world, this is the perfect time of year to introduce nutrient-rich products to our skincare regimens to combat signs of aging, reverse some of the harsh effects of Winter, and prepare our skin for the warm and sunny days ahead.

The Role of Topical Growth Factors

As part of our mission to offer patients medical quality skincare with as little impact on the environment as possible, our four growth factor products (Elevate, Rescue, Smooch, and Optimize) are formulated with the plant-derived ingredient kinetin.

Kinetin is a plant-based protein and growth factor ingredient that increases moisturization, improves the skin’s natural barrier functions, and minimizes signs of aging. This incredible ingredient acts as an antioxidant to reduce oxidative stress in the skin, which can lead to chronic inflammation and a host of serious health concerns.

As a growth factor, kinetin helps regulate the growth of healthy skin tissue while strengthening the underlying structures of the skin. This results in the reduced appearance of many common signs of premature aging, including fine lines and wrinkles.

Capturing Moisture and Improving Barrier Function

As we’ve mentioned in previous blogs, there are a few key factors in protecting the skin from outside influence (UV damage, environmental stress, dirt and debris, acne-causing bacteria, etc.) One of these factors is maintaining healthy barrier function and moisture levels within the dermis.

In addition to causing itching and patches of noticeable dryness, low moisture in the skin can lead to or worsen conditions such as acne and rosacea, make our complexions more susceptible to the harmful effects of the sun, and exaggerate the appearance of wrinkles. As shown in clinical studies, kinetin helps the skin retain natural moisture levels while reducing TEWL (trans-epidermal water loss), thereby enhancing the skin barrier and overall anti-aging benefits.
